Clark, Mattie Keck
Apr 16, 2018Mrs. Clark was born in Chatham County on May 15, 1938, the daughter of Ike and Frances (Groce) Keck. She was an active member of Piney Grove United Methodist Church. She was passionate about helping others. She enjoyed cooking so much that she operated her own restaurant and catering service for several years. Mattie had a big heart. Her greatest love and joy in life was a house full of family and friends and full bellies. She is survived by her loving husband of 60 years: Bruce Clark; three sons: Mike Clark and wife, Ann, Tony Clark and wife, Ginger, and Mark Clark and wife, Angie; two sisters: Doris Powers and husband, Delmas, and Kay McLaurin, all of Siler City; grandchildren, Kelly Clark and wife, Rebekah, Trey Clark, Ashley Wood and husband, Burton, Jessica Blakley and husband, Brandon, Holly Clark and Marcy Clark. The family will receive friends Sunday, April 1, 2018 from 1 until 3 p.m. at Piney Grove United Methodist Church Fellowship Hall, 2343 Piney Grove Church Road, Siler City, NC. The funeral will follow Sunday at 3 p.m. at Piney Grove United Methodist Church with Rev. Jim Folks, Rev. Herbert Lowry, and Pastor Steve Moore officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to West Chatham Food Pantry and Liberty Home Care and Hospice. Smith & Buckner Funeral Home is assisting the family.
